CRITICAL IMPACT
Flight systems lost. Brake before touchdown or use landing assist with L.
Optional shortcuts. Select a location to teleport, or Shift + click to set a course for normal flight.
Click the view to capture your mouse. Look around, pick a direction, and go. Atmospheric flight cruises at 250 m/s, with a modest 400 m/s boost. Speed rises smoothly to 3 km/s in space, or 9 km/s boosted. Ground and station approaches reduce these limits. Press V for inertial flight: momentum and rotation persist until countered or braked with X.
Connect a controller and press a button.
Standard Xbox and PlayStation layouts are supported when recognized by your browser. Release sticks and buttons after connecting or returning to the game. Mouse capture is optional.
In controls, use the right stick or D-pad ↑ / ↓ to scroll. Destinations, seed entry and sound use the mouse or keyboard.
Unlock the Atlas freighter by landing on Aeon, Selene or Pyre and docking at Aeon Orbital. Press U while seated at the station to select it. F operates its belly elevator and twin cargo lifts at their controls. Stow the belly elevator and lower both cargo lifts before launch.
Press F to stand during ordinary flight or after landing. A powered ship with flight assist holds its course and speed while you walk; external exits remain secured in flight. After landing, walk aft to the rear hatch and press F to open it and lower the ramp. The orange cargo container on the starboard cabin wall opens with F; take or stow supplies in your backpack. Four cockpit MFDs show live flight, navigation, systems and cargo data. P toggles main power while seated (controller: Menu, then A on MAIN POWER); shutdown disables propulsion while cabin access and emergency lighting remain available. Walk outside, explore, then return up the ramp and approach the pilot chair. F seats you; B launches.
N spools along your current heading above 20 km or outside the atmosphere; aim along the horizon or away from the planet. N again disengages with controlled braking. Terrain and station clearance still apply. Use Menu → Graphics for grass distance, density and resolution. M opens the system map. Select a world and engage the drive; J also engages a selected route. The drive aligns, spools for 3 seconds and brakes above the destination. X aborts with controlled braking. Maximum speed is 0.9c; short routes reach a lower peak. Leave Aeon’s 100 km, Selene’s 20 km or Pyre’s 40 km exclusion zone and ensure a clear route first. Opening the map pauses flight. One continuous planet at ¼ Earth radius. Quick transit is an optional teleport; manual flight crosses the atmosphere without scene changes. Desktop keyboard and mouse recommended.
At Aeon Orbital, fly through the open hangar doors and brake over the central pad. B docks. Walk down your ship’s ramp to explore the deck, then return to the chair. B lifts off gently; S reverses out through the doors.
Energy glow · Reduced particle motion
Shift + click a destination to set a flight course. Follow the bearing with your normal flight controls; climb when your destination is beyond the horizon. A plain click uses optional quick transit.
Pyre is the hot inner planet, 10 M km from the star and tidally locked: one face bakes at 400 °C, the other glows with lava fields. Click Pyre to arrive 60 km above the dusk terminator, or select it on the system map and engage the drive. The thin CO₂ air allows landing (B) and walking (F); the HUD shows hull temperature on the day side.
Selene is Aeon’s airless, cratered moon. Click Selene for a descent approach, or Shift + click to set a continuous-flight course. B lands, F leaves the chair. Walk aft, open the hatch with F, and walk down the ramp. Space jumps in lunar gravity. Return to the chair, F sits, and B launches. O returns to Aeon orbit.
EQUIPMENT: K or Menu → Equipment opens your loadout; View / I opens Storage. Two weapon slots (1–2), tool (3), backpack, two ammo slots and four medical quick slots (5–8). On foot or in EVA: D-pad left cycles held gear, right selects/holsters the mining tool, up selects a quick item and down uses it. RT / T / mouse fires the held item. Match ammo to the weapon; empty packs can be stowed in nearby storage.
FIELD EQUIPMENT: T or captured left mouse fires the mining laser; Xbox RT fires, D-pad right equips/holsters, and View opens the backpack. Keyboard I opens the same backpack, M opens the system map. Collected basalt, copper and ice occupy stack slots. More boxes add storage. Ship cargo, the station locker and Crescent field cache share this interface.
EVA: choose Selene rings to survey the asteroid belt. Stop below 2 m/s, F / Xbox X leaves the chair, and the open rear ramp leads physically into space. WASD / left stick thrusts; Space/C or A/B rises/descends; Q/E or bumpers roll; hold X / LT to brake drift. RT remains the mining trigger. Approach the open rear ramp slowly at deck height to board again.
Opening a seed starts a new flight. Share the resulting URL: the same seed and generator version produce the same planet for everyone.
